Fire Damage from a Dryer Vent--San Antonio

Homeowners in the San Antonio area, like others in the State of Texas, often neglect the maintenance of their clothes dryers. The reminder can be a slowed drying of clothing or even a small fire. The lint, even with the cleaning of filters, eventually can clog the venting conduit in the wall. Fortunately, this small flare-up required a SERVPRO technician to move the appliance, clean up the floor and wipe down the smoke stain on the walls, very minimal damage. Of course, the problem was fixed after brushing out and vacuuming the venting system with our industrial-grade equipment. We topped off the job with a light deodorization spray to eliminate any lingering odors. The After Photo shows a cleaned utility closet area, "Like it never even happened."
